We offer traditional style art classes and theme-based classes for creative exploration where skills are taught as the need arises in the form of individual instruction, inspiration, and pop-up demos.
The way we structure classes is naturally inclusive of individual needs, interests, abilities, and orientations — strengthening community by allowing different types of people to enjoy the same creative space.
We're Growing
As we grow, we look forward to moving into a big open studio that can accommodate a variety of activities and inspiring local teachers.
And we’re busy dreaming up creative fundraising plans for the next stage so The Beehive can be financially accessible to all.
the beehive is a safe space
True creativity requires vulnerability and vulnerability is only possible in a safe environment (check out Brene Brown's research)
We're committed to maintaining a Hive-vibe of inclusivity and emotional safety for the WHOLE community. Racial, cultural, life-experience, gender, developmental, and neuro DIVERSITY are what make our Hive community strong and beautiful!
 Alycia & John Lund
Parenting two super creative kids, one with an extra chromosome (and extra silliness), has been a big motivation for The Beehive.

From Alycia:
I've always worked closely with kids and they are my most important art teachers. I'm currently writing and illustrating a book about Creative Reconnection: Intuitive painting, ancestral craft and creativity, and nature-based art through the seasonal transitions of the year.✉ alycia@beehivestudio.org
From John:
I work as a graphic designer, illustrator, and photographer and enjoy spontaneous, first thought art and getting into "the zone" where self-connection happens. I love using art and design to help people connect with their community, history, and local environment through interpretive signs, museum illustrations, and interactive exhibits. As a teacher, I love giving individual attention, helping each person hone and develop their unique art skills and goals.✉ john@beehivestudio.org
